What you get from George Foster
What you get really is the confidence that your book has its best advantage in a competitive marketplace. It is a fact that a book is judged by its cover within 5-8 seconds. Your wisest marketing move is to invest now in a great cover that makes people notice and desire your book. This is not the place to cut corners.
Service and benefits
- Your book cover receives experienced, expert design — front, back and spine — delivered with tender loving care. This is my passion. There are no junior artists. I design it all myself. (If your book is hardcover, jacket flaps and case foil stamp art are included, as well as consulting on the color and finish of your case cover.) You are entitled to up to three different cover concepts.
- You own all rights to the cover design.
- Market research (prior to designing) ensures the cover fits within its book category while giving your book the aura of superior quality.
- Editing of text for back cover and flaps (for your approval) is offered, and coaching if requested.
- Coordination with your interior designer ensures a consistent appearance throughout the book. If you are seeking an excellent interior designer, just ask.
- Interfacing with your book printer ensures smooth, mistake-free book production.
- The barcode is created for your back cover. All you do is provide your ISBN.
- If you print advance reading copies, your cover will be adapted for it.
- You'll receive guidance in choosing and using cover elements for branding, at your request.
- Fast, flexible, responsive service and follow-up, answers to your questions about self-publishing (or finding someone who can answer) help you truly enjoy publishing.
- You may have an archive of all files, and cover images for web sites, ads, fliers, postcards, t-shirts, bookmarks, etc. at your request.
- If you seek reliable professionals for editing, interior design, photography, illustration, marketing, book printing, public relations, and consulting, just ask.

The Process
Tell me about your book and its intended audience, by telephone or e-mail. I would like the manuscript so I can know your book inside and out, but if that is not possible, a book summary will suffice. Also, please give me the following information:
- Are there books (or authors) to which your book might be compared?
- What is the age range and gender of the people you wish to reach with your book?
- Are there covers on this web site that especially appeal (or don’t appeal) to you?
Please let me know if you are in a rush, but normally you should allow two weeks to receive the first proof of the front cover. The first cover is often accepted with a few revisions, but you are welcome to ask for as many revisions as you like or even a totally new concept, up to three. Please be assured that I am here for you and make every effort to give you a cover you'll absolutely love (see testimonials). If you are unsure of what you want, don’t worry. I'll help you avoid mistakes and get the best cover possible.
Once your front cover is approved, the back cover and spine follow within a few days. With your approval of the back cover, we are ready to go to press. If you have a tight schedule let me know, but a normal schedule is 4-5 weeks total.
Please note: You will love your new book cover and be confident that it will compete successfully with the big publishers to help make your book a success, even a bestseller. If you are unsatisfied with my work, you may recieve half of your deposit back.
