Book Cover Design

Foster Cover book cover design

Before: This is handsomely done but when the book was acquired by another publisher, a new cover was desired. It should be perceived as a “must-have” book, not just another one about Notre Dame. It should be a valued keepsake.

After: The frame border adds dignity and prestige (in the school colors). Gold and black are often used together for expensive high-quality products so it works here. The photo is more vibrant. The subtitle, in three parts, frames the photo and emphasizes “Inspirations” and “America’s”. In the title, “Spirit” is now larger to increase its meaning. The photo had to shrink, but the frame of gold type now hugs and treasures the dome. Script in the title adds elegance. The book has successfully become upscale.
