Before: The execution is basically awkward. The text is too casual for such a serious book, the gray-blue background is drab against the red, and there is way too much empty space. In a word, boring.

After: Let’s enlarge those hands to increase their visual and mystic power. Their color is warmed up. A large, classic typeface in all capitals gives the title a sense of authority. The subtitle is bigger and, with varied size and weight, makes its point emphatically. Its gold color matches the artwork above, couching the title and pulling the cover together. The red lines add stability while also framing the author in the space below, enhancing his name.
