Book Cover Design

Foster Cover book cover design

Selling a book is easier when your cover adds perceived value.
Compare for yourself.

Before: The mouse is the established brand, but here it looks timid, exactly opposite the book’s message. This two-color treatment suggests a lack of imagination, contradicting the book’s message.

After: The title has more power now, and the red lines make it sizzle, as does the variance of color. Surrounding it with gold evokes prestige and success without spoiling the cartoon theme. The enlarged (and shortened) subtitle delivers the benefit in attention-grabbing red. The illustration is now at the top to imply the rest of the maze without having to show so much of it. After all, it is not about the maze, but about breaking out.
